Poker rut via Littleacornman's poker n life blog April 14th, 2008 at 20:58

I still feel like I'm stuck in a poker rut after losing £33 over 31 turbos at the weekend.I did at least finish with a 3rd and 4th ( 1st-4th pays at 18 seat games) however even those ones left me cursing as I ran AJs into AA to go out 4th and had AJ beaten by K10 ( 10 on turn) for my 3rd place finish.I suppose to be running as badly as I am and still up aprox $100 for the month ( over 91 games)is ok but after the last few quite profitable months it's very frustrating indeed.I did at least get to bed for 3am on both Friday and Saturday night and don't feel quite as much of a zombie as I usually do on a Monday. My cousin was also over on Sat night and yesterday I was out at Firhill watching Rangers win 2-0 to progress to the semi-final of the Scottish cup. Before that game there is the...

Most people outside the UK most likely wont know who Peter Kay is..well I'm here to tell you all about the comedian from Bolton, UK. He has written an autobiography of his life and people will be surprised to learn that its not your usual "..and this horrid thing happened in my life" or "I came to the end of the road and had to be picked up by...." Not that usual stuff (although I'm not saying those types of autobiographies are not worth reading. I've read a few in my time and enjoyed them as much as Peter Kay's book, and I own a few)Peter Kay centers more on the funny sides of his life. There are a few death stories mentioned but all are talked about in the happier times of that persons life or by talking about the Right Said Fred tune his dog died to. This autobiography kept me in...

Since the first time I saw the game XIII, I've thought cell rendering was amazing, so imagine my excitement when I saw the trailer for "A Scanner Darkly" (the big downloads really are worth it). The film gets bonus points for being based on a Philip K. Dick (Blade Runner, Minority Report and Total Recall) book, of which I now have a copy sitting on my desk in front of me. I have loads of books like this one which I fear will get added to a growing pile of 'books to read' which I really need to get started on. I'd like to try and read a book a month which is certainly not quick, but should get me started and allow me to take a little time over the book. Here in lies my request, at every opportunity, ask me what I'm reading, pester me to read more and recommend books you think I'd......
