Zagga $16 Turbo Vid.. via Littleacornman's poker n life blog July 8th, 2008 at 23:20

After a weekend which put a spring in my step ,I've been plodding along nicely this week, despite the poor weather.I do find it funny that everytime we have a hot,dry summer it's all down to man-made global warming and yet when it's cooler and constantly raining it doesn't get mentioned.Maybe we'll even see some of the acid rain people were getting their knickers in a twist over back in the 80's.Ahh we're all doomed! On Monday night I made another poker video( 18 man ,$16 turb on Stars),this time using the Cardrunners hand history replayer. Not being very techy, unfortunately I think I used the wrong resolution setting and the 35 ( 224 MB) min video file is too big to host on screencast or for emailing to anyone. In fact it was a pretty hopeless effort and all I can do is post it here and...

Bad Beat Dog.. via Littleacornman's poker n life blog May 25th, 2008 at 02:59

On reflection Fridays nights marathon losing turbo session wasn't entirely wasted. In poker you have to learn to accept losing and get used to bad sessions/weeks and even months. It's just that kind of game.I didn't enjoy the experience, but the next time I run like that over 50 games I'll be able to look back on nights like Friday and take heart from the fact I kept my cool during it,I didn't give up and I kept my losses to a minimum.I'm always banging on about the long run to people after beats.I suppose that's because I feel like I've been through so many bad runs of my own that I accept they are natural aspects of the game and if I can get through them and profit then anyone can.Last night I began by coming 3rd in a $33 single table turbo at Party before catching up with Rosie,Juice and...

Donkey tale via Littleacornman's poker n life blog November 5th, 2007 at 19:51

I watched a ton of football yesterday, dropped Nacho off and then hit the tables, playing two $16 turbos ( 18 player) and winning one of them.At 9pm I began playing the Bloggerment and the DTD game and never really got into my stride in either.I did managed to suck out on Dudley’s Queens with my 99 but I was far from playing my best game and went out of both games after making poor calls. In the DTD game I think I reraised with AK and then called an all in versus AA and in the Bloggerment I called a raise and reraise with 1010 and failed to improve v QQ and AA.I wasn’t really enjoying trying to keep up with the subtleties of play in both games although the chat was a good laugh as usual.I didn’t see who won the DTD game but congrats to Rob at poker4ever beating a tough opponent (...

Blogger game writeup via Littleacornman's poker n life blog March 12th, 2007 at 19:24

Yesterday seemed to encapsulate the poker bloggers dilema perfectly.Dull results based posts are a yawn and getting it all out there after a night of bad beats just seems like moaning and that’s not much fun to read either. Then again my blog is my personal record of my play and results and if lady luck has deserts me on occasion then I have to post about it in one way or another.Happily last night after watching Osasuna draw with Valencia ,I began an 18 player $15 turbo at ‘Stars to warm up for the bloggerpod freeroll and was still playing at the final table when the freeroll began.I always have my option set to show an uncalled winning hand which is probably a waste of time as I rarely show.Still it has it’s uses and I enjoyed showing a 6 high bluff ( I was in big blind with 56)...

Wed Update via Littleacornman's poker n life blog March 7th, 2007 at 19:54

I can't believe it's Wednesday already.Just a quick update as the s-man will be over soon and I haven't had my dinner yet.Not been a great week so far on the poker front.I'm down about $50 at Laddys including a couple of failed late night crapshoots and I've bombed out of my last few turbo sng's too.One in particular was frustrating because when it was checked round to me I went for the steal from the small blind with A6 against the solid player in the big blind. He must have checked my sharkscope stats and realised I wasn't a total idiot but was capable of stealing with a fairly mince hand so he reraised me.I knew he knew that and reckoned he was making a move back so we both ended up all in with crap hands.Sadly his 108 beat my A6 and my read meant nothing.Last night Mrs A ,her Dad and I...

Party time via Littleacornman's poker n life blog February 21st, 2007 at 20:05

I was feeling quite tired last night so I didn’t play too much poker although I did manage to win half a buy-in at FT’s cash tables and lose it in a couple of $11 turbo’s.I got a “lol” “ 7’s?” in the chat box after I’d reraised a donkey all in,he called with AQ and my sevens held up.I’m usually silent in the chat but couldn’t resist pointing out he’d made the call and was behind when he did. There was already a limper when he made a small raise ( he’d been raising on a regular basis) so I hoped to squeeze out both players with my bet.Not my fault he called off his chips with the worst of it!I’ve not made the money in my last few FT Turbo’s and decided to play one at Party for a change.I’ve played very few turbo sng’s at Party because sharkscope only works...
